Vampirella

This bust titled "Queen of the Dark" by El Viejo Dragon is 1:10 scale made mostly made of resin. The arms, hands and collars are metal. The figure is very well sculpted and casted which meant for very little time spent on prep work. Painted entirely in oils over an acrylic base. I had to dial back on the contrast while painting the flesh tones. I noticed on female figures painted by other artists the lack of a deep shadow. I think that method lends well to the overall appearance of feminine skin. After the figure was painted I added the dullcote. Then I added a sheen to the skin using an acrylic gloss built up to just the correct amount glossiness. Gold was done in printers inks with a Liquin medium.
